This painting is dedicated to my dad – the food connoisseur!
He is the original lover of ALL things food and I owe a substantial amount of food knowledge to his love and willingness to share his food wisdom.
This is one of his favorites and I wanted to do it complete justice – I wanted the colors to pop, the layers to stand out and the bread to reveal every bit of effort that went into kneading that perfect dough – Having said that, the end result did mean that I will never, ever look at the humble burger as being simple again 😊
It was so much fun painting this piece – the impasto strokes to get texture, the mixing of colors to get vibrant hues and the coming together of an eternal visual treat – I have treated this burger with care and point thus proven that this ‘burger’ is ‘king.’
