I’m Shweta Matai, an oil painter inspired by nature, color, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. A wife and mom with a lifelong passion for painting, I create original oil paintings on canvas that celebrate simplicity, warmth, and realism—art meant to be lived with and loved.

Painting feels instinctive to me—almost genetic. I am primarily self-taught, with foundational formal training in oil painting techniques, and years of dedicated studio practice. My artistic style bridges traditional and contemporary realism, drawing influence from the Dutch Golden Age masters, while remaining deeply personal and modern.

My work focuses on visual storytelling through oil paint, using expressive impasto and alla prima techniques to bring texture, depth, and emotion to the surface. I enjoy translating scenes from “reel” to real-like—whether it’s a quiet landscape, a floral study, or a still life—creating paintings that feel tangible, immersive, and timeless.

Each painting is an invitation to slow down, observe, and reconnect with nature and beauty in its most honest form. I believe art should feel relatable, soulful, and just enough to make you happy.
